What is MEMO

MEMO (Marseille ElectroMagnetism and Optics) is a group of Ph.D. students which aim to:

• Organizing events related to electromagnetic and optical science. Like this conference
• Create and strengthen the links between young scientists and researchers both in academia and industry.
• Engage in outreach activities targeted towards the general public.

To support these activities, we are affiliated as a student chapter of Optica (formerly OSA), one of the main international professional societies in the field.

Organizing yearly conference

This conference is the first of a yearly event that we want to implement at Marseille.

Organizing webinars

During the COVID period, we organized webinars in the different fields ranging from building Startups to writing research articles, from the field of bio-imaging to Quantum Optics. You can rewatch them on our Youtube channel

Popular Science Video

It is an ongoing project in which we aim to popularize our field with a casual and short explanation of the most impactful scientific papers in the respective field,
